Morreu Mae de Bob Marley no dia 8 de Abril 2008

Cedella Booker, morreu aos 81 anos em Miami enquanto dormia na noite de terça-feira

 

 

Cedella Marley Booker, mais conhecida por ser a mãe do maior ídolo do Reggae de todos os tempos - Bob Marley, faleceu na noite da última terça-feira, 8 de abril de 2008. Segundo informações, "Mother B", como era conhecida faleceu enquanto dormia e tinha 81 anos. Nascida em Kingston, capital da Jamaica, Cedella se casou aos 18 anos com o Capitão Norval Sinclair Marley, um Jamaicano branco descendente de Ingleses.

 

Deste casamento, nasceu Bob Marley, que por poucas vezes teve contato com o seu pai. Norval morreu em 1955 vítima de um ataque cardíaco aos 60 anos. "Mother B" estava morando na Flórida, Estados Unidos, tendo escrevido dois livros sobre o filho: "Bob Marley, My Son" e "Bob Marley: An Intimate Portrait by His Mother". Cedella ainda mostrou seus dotes artísticos lançando o álbum "Awake Zion" com os The Wailers e "Smilin’ Island of Song". A família está preparando um memorial em homenagem à matriarca da família.

"No. I have never seen him drink. You might see him coming with a bottle of beer in him hand. But like,- when them drink two dozen him not finished the one yet! He is not a drinker."
